Caroline Dormon and the Birth of Briarwood-Virtual Program

Speaker: Bayli Brossette, Curator of Briarwood: the Caroline Dormon Nature Preserve

Join Bayli--live from Louisiana via Zoom--for a look into the life, land and fascinating legacy of Caroline Dormon--internationally renowned naturalist, author, botanist, illustrator, painter, archaeologist, ethnologist, and Louisiana's first pioneer in conservation education. As if all of that is not enough, Dormon is further considered the mother of Kisatchie National Forest, the only National Forest in Louisiana. She was also one of Elizabeth Lawrence's dearest gardening friends. You won't want to miss this one!
